This Privacy Policy explains how DriveDownRates ("DriveDownRates," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit drivedownrates.com (the "Site") and use our car insurance comparison service. If you have questions, email us at pinerest@proton.me.

1. Who we are and what we do

DriveDownRates is a free comparison service. We are not an insurance company, agency or broker, and we don't sell insurance or give insurance advice. We show you insurers and agencies that sell car insurance in your area. When you click on one, you go to their site, and their own privacy policy applies to anything you share with them.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Your ZIP code, which you enter to start a comparison.
  • Answers to the questions shown after your ZIP (for example your vehicle, current insurance, and drivers in your household), if you answer them.
  • Anything you send us by email, such as a question or a privacy request.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage information, such as browser type, device type, IP address, pages viewed, referring page and the time of your visit.
  • Campaign and tracking parameters in the link you used to reach the Site (for example a traffic-source label or a click ID), which we use to measure where visitors come from.
  • Information collected by cookies, pixels, scripts and similar technologies, including those operated by insurance companies and agencies in our listings and by consent-verification services that may record your interaction with a form to document your consent.

3. How we use information

  • To show you insurers and agencies that are available in your area.
  • To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site.
  • To measure traffic and advertising performance, and to get paid by the insurance companies and agencies in our listings.
  • To respond to your messages and requests.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with law.

4. How we share information

  • Insurance companies and agencies in our listings. Your ZIP code and, if you provide them, your answers are used to show you matching insurance companies and agencies, and may be shared with them for that purpose. If you click on one, or request a quote from one, information may be passed to them so they can respond to you.
  • Service providers. Companies that host the Site, provide analytics, or otherwise help us run the service, under obligations to protect the information.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or others.
  • Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

5. Calls, texts and emails

Comparing on the Site doesn't sign you up for calls or texts. If you give your phone number to an insurance company or agency in our listings and agree to be contacted, they may contact you as described in the consent you gave them. You can withdraw that consent with the company that contacts you, for example by replying STOP to a text.

6. Cookies and your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the Site may not work without them. To opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies, you can visit optout.aboutads.info.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of certain uses such as targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. To make a request, email pinerest@proton.me. We will verify your request before acting on it and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with your written permission.

8. Data retention and security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children

The Site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email pinerest@proton.me and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
